This prestigious event brought together companies from the semiconductor and design industries. It was hosted by the MIIT China Software Testing Center (CSTC) and organized by the China Electronics Purchasing Association (CEPA), the internet portal of the Chinese electronic industry ECCN and the technology magazine Global Electronics China (GEC). The jury, which comprised industry experts and users of ECCN.com, chose this year´s winners in a variety of different categories, such as intelligent medical, energy or transportation solutions. Cingo prevailed over 40 competing technologies in the Smart Home category and won the Excellent Solutions Award. The jury members were highly impressed by the unique sound improvements Cingo is able to bring to the mobile domain.
Whether on the road or at home, enthusiasts of high quality audio can experience unique surround sound on their smartphones or tablets with Fraunhofer Cingo. Mobile users can plug in their stereo headphones or use the built-in loudspeakers to enjoy the immersive audio playback while listening to a favorite song or watching a movie. In addition, Cingo provides existing stereo content with a more natural and clear sound. Thanks to the integrated loudness optimization each detail is audible – even in noisy environments.
Cingo is also Google’s choice for surround sound on mobile devices. Since 2013, the Google Nexus family of devices has been using Fraunhofer Cingo for enhancing the audio playback. Furthermore, Korea’s leading IPTV provider, SK Broadband, a subsidiary of the telecommunications company SK Telecom, has integrated Cingo technology in its Btv mobile App. With this app users can enjoy their favorite series or movies in excellent surround sound thanks to Cingo. In another high-profile deployment, the Korean telecommunications company LG U+ has recently selected the Fraunhofer technology for its mobile video service, U+HDTV. In this way LG U+ users can experience unmatched surround sound while watching a movie on their smartphones.
