ZTE Becomes First to Secure MPEG-H Certification for Set-Top Boxes for Brazil’s DTV+

As to Fraunhofer IIS confirmed, ZTE has completed certification for its first MPEG-H Audio-enabled set-top box through the MPEG-H Audio Trademark Program, leading the way for Brazil’s next generation DTV+ experience.

ZTE, a leading global provider of telecommunications and technology solutions, has become the first MPEG-H Audio-certified set-top box manufacturer after successfully completing the MPEG-H Audio Trademark Program. This milestone ensures that viewers will be able to reliably enjoy the next-generation audio system through Brazil’s upcoming DTV+ broadcast standard. First commercial implementations of the certified ZTE devices are now available on the market, with the Century Evolution DTV+ set-top box recently launched in Brazil by Century.

Brazil’s DTV+ rollout has started this year in June, introducing advanced features such as immersive and personalized sound powered by MPEG-H Audio. These capabilities enhance accessibility and deliver a next-generation viewing experience for millions of households. Certification under the MPEG-H Audio Trademark Program guarantees interoperability and compliance with the standard, giving manufacturers and broadcasters confidence in seamless integration.

“Achieving certification through our Trademark Program is a milestone which helps manufacturers build a robust MPEG-H integration”, says Adrian Murtaza, Chief Business Development Manager at Fraunhofer IIS. “By completing the program, ZTE stands out to deliver all the next-generation features that DTV+ has to offer”.

A sneak preview of the ZTE set-top box will be displayed at SET Expo 2026 in the Fraunhofer booth – 42B.
