The subcommittee that is the home to JPEG and MPEG is currently in the process of updating its internal structure. Fraunhofer IIS has been committed to SC 29 since its beginning and will continue to show that strong commitment under the new structure.
MPEG and JPEG have become synonymous with excellent audio, video, and image standards that have gained world-wide recognition and will continue to live up to that reputation.
Fraunhofer IIS thanks Leonardo Chiariglione for his strong leadership in MPEG, guiding the group to be the best known standardization group in the audiovisual world.
