Thanks to the new TV audio system of the MPEG-H Audio Alliance television viewers can experience fascinating and enveloping TV sound with a new sense of realism on their tablet or at home while watching movies or film series.

Robert Bleidt, Division Manager Fraunhofer USA Digital Media Technologies DMT, explains how broadcasters can implement this solution technically to provide an immersive and personalized audio experience to the audience.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS has developed intelligent algorithms known as Cingo® and Symphoria® that produce a natural and immersive 3D audio experience. So you get to feel like you’re at a live concert – even when you’re actually listening on a mobile device or in the car. Now, Oliver Hellmuth, Jan Plogsties and Harald Popp received the 2015 Joseph-von-Fraunhofer prize for the development and market launch of Cingo® and Symphoria®. More »
